Derby County sent brutal message as battling Luton Town stage smash and grab

Derby County played Luton Town at Pride Park this afternoon in a game crucial to both sides' hopes of avoiding relegation from the Championship.

And it was the visitors who emerged with three precious points, Millenic Alli firing home with winner in the first half before the Hatters withstood a concerted Derby effort to get back on level terms.

Ahead of the rest of today's Good Friday games, Derby remain outside the bottom three, but now only on goal difference as Luton's victory sees them join the Rams on 43 points, just one ahead of Cardiff and three clear of Plymouth.
