Here’s when Seahawks will play 49ers in Week 18
by Tim Booth · The Seattle TimesThe Seahawks and 49ers will face each other on a short week with the NFC West title and the No. 1 seed in the NFC at stake.
The NFL announced the Week 18 schedule late Sunday night and the Seahawks and 49ers will play Saturday night in Santa Clara, California with the division title and homefield advantage on the line. The game will kickoff at 5 p.m. PT and be broadcast on ESPN/ABC.
It’s clear the NFL intended on putting the teams in a prime-time matchup, but the chance to put the Ravens and Steelers in the Sunday night spot in a battle for the AFC North seemed to shift the Seahawks and 49ers to Saturday night and a short week for both teams.

It’s the second time in recent years the Seahawks and 49ers will meet in the regular season finale with the NFC West title on the line. San Francisco beat the Seahawks 26-21 in the 2019 finale at Lumen Field when Jacob Hollister was tackled at the 1-yard line on fourth-and-goal with 9 seconds left in the game.
The Seahawks beat Carolina 27-10 earlier on Sunday to keep control of the No. 1 seed in the NFC. San Francisco then set the stage for the showdown by holding off Chicago 42-38 on Sunday night, creating the winner-take-all matchup for the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
If the 49ers prevail next week against the Seahawks, they wouldn’t need to leave home at all during the postseason as the Super Bowl will also be played at Levi’s Stadium.
If the Seahawks lose next Saturday, they would fall to either the No. 5 or No. 6 seed in the NFC and open on the road, depending on what the Rams do Monday night at Atlanta and next Sunday at home against Arizona. The No. 5 seed would be on the road against the NFC South champion — either Tampa Bay or Carolina. The No. 6 seed will play either at Chicago or Philadelphia on wild-card weekend.
Including the playoffs, the Seahawks have lost three of their last four games against the 49ers at Levi’s Stadium, but did beat San Francisco 20-17 last season. The Seahawks won seven of eight games at the stadium between 2014-21.
