ATHENS — Greek drone company Resilience Tech says it has developed the first domestically produced flight controller for FPV drones, a core electronics board it plans to use as the “brain” of its next-generation systems.

The firm announced the project on May 27. Development began about four months earlier, it said, after allied militaries it works with pressed for higher operational standards and a more secure supply chain.

What the board does

A flight controller stabilizes the aircraft, processes sensor data and handles navigation. In current wars, electronic warfare and jamming make fast software changes as important as the hardware itself.

Resilience Tech’s board is built around an STM32F722 ARM Cortex-M7 processor. The company says that computing power can run complex navigation algorithms even when GPS is denied, and that software can be updated quickly as adversary tactics change.

Why domestic production matters

The controller is assembled on the company’s own pick-and-place SMT line in Greece. In-house board production is meant to cut reliance on foreign — often Asian — parts, limit export-control risk and reduce the chance of hardware-level backdoors.

European armies are scaling FPV and other small unmanned systems. Athens and Brussels both treat fewer imported critical components as a sovereignty issue. Resilience Tech frames the controller as a step from buying foreign kits toward vertically integrated Greek production, from the circuit board to the finished drone.

The company says the work also fits NATO’s push for allied industry to design and build more of its own unmanned systems.
