Cheap but reliable soundbars are worth looking into if you just want a quick and easy upgrade to your TV speakers – you just have to find one. Well, right now, I've found this Samsung HW-C400 Soundbar at Best Buy for $89.99 (was $119.99).
Soundbars are the natural next step up from your average speakers. As the producer of some of our best soundbars, Samsung is a trustworthy brand, even if you're going for a budget alternative to its best of the best options.
Of course, the HW-C400 won't be as good as the premium (and much more expensive) Samsung HW-Q800F, but it doesn't need to be to give you a satisfying upgrade to most in-built TV speakers – especially if you just want a better experience with movies or this weekend's Super Bowl.
Today's best budget soundbar deal
Samsung HW-C400 Soundbar: was $119.99 now $89.99 at Best Buy
The Samsung HW-C400 is a budget soundbar that's now even cheaper thanks to this latest sale. It's a Bluetooth-only soundbar with a built-in subwoofer and a few convenient features like surround sound expansion, night mode, and voice enhancement. For under $100, that's not a bad deal for reasonable audio. It doesn't have the more refined features that a cinema fan or audiophile would have, but this is for the average person just looking for a cheap upgrade to built-in TV peakers.
The Samsung HW-C400 (this model) is Bluetooth-only, so you'll need to have a Bluetooth-compatible TV to connect with it (but most TVs do these days). Other perks include the built-in subwoofer, surround sound expansion, night mode for the sake of your neighbors, and voice enhancement for clearer dialogue on screen.
We haven't reviewed this specific Samsung soundbar model, but we did review its similar predecessor, the Samsung HW-N400, which offered an effective, if not revolutionary, upgrade. I'd recommend reading the review if you'd like to hear more about what to expect from a budget Samsung soundbar.
Besides the Samsung HW-C400, we recommend any of our best budget soundbars. We also have recommendations for best Dolby Atmos soundbars, if you specifically want soundbars with that feature.
