Met Eireann has upgraded its weather warning to include more counties ahead of heavy, blustery rain.
The national forecaster had previously issued a Status Yellow rain alert for Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick and Galway amid grim weather conditions, explaining there will be difficult travelling conditions, poor visibility and localised flooding as a result.
But now, Met Eireann has issued an update on these weather warnings.

A Status Yellow rain warning for Cork and Kerry will kick off from 8pm on this evening (Tuesday September 16) until 3am tomorrow morning (Wednesday September 17).
Another Status Yellow rain warning has also been issued for Cavan, Donegal and the whole of Connacht.
This will come into effect at 8pm this evening and will remain valid until 5am tomorrow morning.
Sharing tonight's nationwide forecast, Met Eireann said: "Widespread outbreaks of rain tonight, heavy in places with spot flooding likely. The rain will mostly clear eastwards by morning with some patches of fog developing in southern areas.
"Lowest temperatures of 9 to 14 degrees with fresh and gusty southeasterly winds, veering southwesterly, strong near coasts."
Tomorrow looks set to be a drier day but there will still be some rainfall.
Met.ie says: "Becoming largely dry but cloudy tomorrow morning with isolated showers and just limited sunny spells. Better sunny spells will develop from the south during the afternoon but cloud and showers may push in to southern areas during the evening.
"Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees with fresh and gusty southwesterly winds, strong or near gale force near western and northern coasts. The winds will begin to ease from the south later in the day.
"Showery outbreaks of rain will push up from the south [on Wednesday night], mainly affecting Munster and Leinster with some heavy falls possible. Staying largely dry in Ulster and Connacht with the longest clear spells in the northwest.
"Lowest temperatures of 8 to 13 degrees in mostly light to moderate southwesterly winds, fresh at first in the north and west and strengthening near southern coasts by morning."
Thursday (September 18) will see "further showery outbreaks of rain likely in the south and east though with dry intervals at times.
"Drier and sunnier in the north and west with a few showers. Highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees generally with light to moderate southwesterly winds, fresher near southern and northwestern coasts.
"Dry for most with isolated showers [on Thursday night]. However, showery outbreaks of rain may continue to affect southern and southeastern coastal areas. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees in light to moderate southwesterly winds."
