Met Eireann have unveiled their forecast as we move into 'meteorological spring' from tomorrow.

Saturday marks a new month as we go into March, and weather conditions are set to improve as spring will officially be upon us.

In their long range forecast for the next few weeks, Met Eireann have said: "The first week of March looks set to be dominated by westerly winds bringing sunshine and spells of rain at times with temperatures above normal for time of year.

"The second week of the outlook period also sees low pressure dominating with temperatures still running above normal for the time of year. Winds will be mainly westerly and there will be spells of rain at times."

For the next few days, there will be some showers and colder temperatures, but things will warm up towards the weekend.

For their overview for the coming days, Met Eireann have said: "A rather settled beginning to meteorological Spring, with just occasional light rain or drizzle mainly in parts of the west and north."
