Samsung Galaxy S25 smartphones launch in Ireland and go all out on AI
by Mark Kavanagh · Irish MirrorSamsung has taken the wraps off the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 smartphones with a series of launch events around the globe.
The firm said the devices are “a true AI companion” and promised the most natural and context-aware mobile experiences ever created.
The smartphones will go on sale in Ireland from February 7 but customers can pre-order from today on the Samsung website.

Samsung’s pre-order offer means customers can double their storage for free, although this does not apply to the most expensive unit, the 1TB S25 Ultra, as that is the maximum amount of storage available.
You also get a six-month free subscription to Google's AI service Gemini Advanced which includes 2TB of cloud storage.
Galaxy S25 series key features
A souped-up Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy chipset, the fastest smartphone chip currently, powers the devices while the phones will run Android 15 with One UI 7 ovelraid.
The firm placed most of its emphasis on new AI tech that enables Galaxy S25 to interpret text, speech, images and videos for interactions that feel natural.
Upgrades to Google’s Circle to Search make searching your phone screen more helpful, fast and contextual. Circle to Search now quickly recognises phone numbers, email and URLs on your screen, letting you call, email or visit a website with a single tap.
The company said you can also perform actionable searches with context-aware suggestions for next steps. And it promised a breakthrough in natural language understanding, making everyday interactions such as finding a specific photo in Gallery or adjusting the size of display fonts in Settings.
The firm also highlighted its Call Transcript and Writing Assist AI features.
The Galaxy S25 smartphones are also equipped with Vulkan Engine and improved Ray Tracing, which the firm said means smoother and more realistic mobile gaming.
Elsewhere, the camera hardware looks similar to last year’s models but there is a new 50MP ultrawide lens on S25 Ultra. However, the software upgrades and new AI photography tools should elevate the phone’s computational photography smarts to new levels.
The firm also said S25 Ultra is even tougher than before thanks to the use of new Corning Gorilla Armor 2, a material that Samsung said is more durable than glass.
The entire Galaxy S25 series also gets seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates, the Galaxy S25 series ensures a reliable and optimised performance over a longer lifespan.

All Galaxy S25 devices give customers access to sign up for a 6-month trial of Gemini Advanced and 2TB of cloud storage at no extra cost. Gemini Advanced comes with our most capable AI models and priority access to the newest features like Gems, custom AI experts for any topic, and Deep Research, which acts as your personal AI research assistant.
Samsung Galaxy S25 series will be available for pre-order now on Samsung.com and will be widely available from operators and retailers from February 7, 2025.
Galaxy S25 Ultra will be available in Titanium Silverblue, Titanium Black, Titanium Whitesilver and Titanium Grey. Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ will be available in Silver Shadow, Navy, Icyblue and Mint.
Customers who pre-order Galaxy S25, S25+ or S25 Ultra from Samsung.com can double their storage too for the same price. The cheapest model starts at €919 and the most expensive phone is €1,849.
