Satechi launches a four-device mechanical keyboard with a full 108-key layout

Satechi’s new full-size mechanical keyboard features backlit keys, the ability to connect to four devices at once, OS-specific keys and other perks.

The new SM3 Slim Mechanical Backlit Bluetooth Keyboard, unveiled at CES 2025 today, is already available for purchase via the Satechi web store. This sleek accessory is suitable for office and home use, sporting brown switches with a shorter travel distance. The switches are soldered and not hot-swappable.

Satechi already offers a slimmer mechanical keyboard (SM1) with a 75 percent layout. The new SM3 brings a full 108-key layout and a dedicated numeric keypad for extensive numerical input that office workers and programmers will dig a lot.

The keyboard ships with OS-specific keycaps for Mac and Windows PC owners. These include the commonly used macOS keys, such as Command and Option, along with Windows-specific Win and Alt keys.

You can connect this thing to four devices simultaneously, two over dual Bluetooth 5.0 channels and two more via USB-C and the included 2.4 GHz USB receiver that plugs into your computer, hub, etc.

Thanks to white backlight, you can comfortably type on your SM3 in complete darkness. Plus, there are 14 different patterns with three brightness levels and four LED speeds to choose from. Large keys like Delete, Return, Left Ship, and Spacebar are equipped with stabilizers that ensure uniform key presses.

The internal 2500mAh battery can be recharged via the built-in USB-C port. As mentioned, you can also connect your SM3 via USB-C to reduce Bluetooth lag and improve keyboard performance while gaming (and charging at the same time).

Other perks include an adjustable feet for better stability, a sleek aluminum enclosure, quick swapping between the media and function keys, switching the layout between macOS and Windows functions with a built-in shortcut, and more.
