Here are all of the alleged color options for this year’s iPhone 17 lineup

Apple is expected to tweak the colors for this year’s iPhone 17 lineup and bring fresh new finishes, including an all-new orange option for the iPhone 17 Pro models.

Leakers Majin Bu and Sonny Dickson have already listed some of the color options for standard and Pro-branded iPhone 17 models arriving this September. Today, Filipe Espósito reported for Macworld that he was able to obtain an “internal document” listing all of the color finishes for the upcoming iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models, along with their Pantone numbers.

The base iPhone 17 model should be offered in a new Steel Gray color option. The ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air is expected to be offered in a blue shade not dissimilar from the MacBook Air’s Sky Blue finish, among other color options.

What color options will standard iPhone 17 models offer?

According to these leaks, Apple will offer the base iPhone 17 model in six color finishes, while the iPhone 17 Air will come in four. Both handsets will also come in Apple’s standard black and white color finishes, as will the iPhone 17 Pros.

Apple had allegedly also tested purple color for the base iPhone 17 model, but it doesn’t seem like that color finish has made the final cut.

This is the first time Apple will offer standard iPhones (iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air) in different color finishes. Contrast this with the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models that are provided in the same color options.

What colors will the iPhone 17 Pros have?

As for the iPhone 17 Pros, Apple is thought to introduce an all-new orange color that will be exclusive to the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

“The orange will have a ‘fluorescent’ look, according to our source, which also notes that due to materials and light in the real world, the colors on actual devices may differ slightly from their Pantone-based representations,” reads the article. The new color options for the iPhone Pros reflect the rumor claiming Apple will switch from titanium to aluminum for the iPhone 17 Pros.

The Dark Blue color option is also a new option, but it should be pointed out that the iPhone 15 Pros were offered in the Blue Titanium finish two years ago. Of course, the new Dark Blue color should be visually distinguishable from the Blue Titanium finish. For better or worse, Apple’s color scheme for iPhone Pros remains boring compared with the more vibrant and expressive color options for standard models.
