Acer unveils its first Intel Arc G3-powered Predator Atlas 8 gaming handheld
With Computex 2026 just around the corner, early reveals are starting to surface. In fact, Acer has already provided details of some products it plans to showcase at the event. Among them is the company's latest gaming handheld PC, which uses a new Intel-powered chip.
Acer Predator Atlas 8
According to Acer, the Predator Atlas 8 sports an Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor. This chip promises to deliver "breakthrough handheld performance and battery efficiency for serious PC gamers". For graphics, the Predator Atlas 8 relies on Intel Arc B390 graphics, which delivers ray tracing support and Intel XeSS 3 AI-powered upscaling to deliver smooth gameplay and high-fidelity visuals. Its sizable 80 Wh battery means you can game for long hours.
Since cooling is important for gaming PCs, the Acer Predator Atlas 8 uses a dual-fan cooling system to maintain stable gaming performance for long gaming sessions. This is the first handheld device to feature metal fans, specifically Acer's precision metal Predator AeroBlade fan, which features 89 0.1mm blades. The second fan is made of plastic, but is equally important as it works with Vortex Flow tuning and angled internal channels to quickly push hot air out.
Display-wise, the Predator Atlas 8 sports an 8-inch WUXGA touchscreen with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 500 nits of peak brightness. This screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus with DXC, which means better scratch protection and reduced glare. For audio, the handheld has dual 2-watt speakers and supports DTS:X Ultra audio. The device even has two microphones and Acer's PurifiedVoice feature, which has AI-assisted noise reduction for clear voice chats.
The Acer Predator Atlas 8 runs on Windows 11, so you'll have access to XBOX Mode and a familiar system. It also supports XBOX Game Pass, which means you can play a variety of PC games on it. On top of that, having access to Windows 11 allows you to use the Predator Atlas 8 like a regular PC.
Price and availability
Acer has not announced the price for the Predator Atlas 8 yet, as the company is saving the reveal for Computex 2026. However, the company did confirm that the handheld gaming PC will launch first in Australia, EMEA, and North America.
