Samsung starts official rollout of One UI 8 for Galaxy devices in Malaysia

Samsung Electronics has begun the official rollout of One UI 8, bringing new AI-powered features, improved UI flexibility, and stronger privacy protections to a broad range of its Galaxy devices. Starting with the Galaxy S25 series this week, more eligible phones and foldables will receive the update later in the year.

Smarter, Personalised UX with Enhanced Security

One UI 8 introduces “multimodal AI capabilities,” enabling the system to respond more intelligently to what users see, hear, or are doing. It offers proactive suggestions based on context and routines, like content recommendations, personalised reminders, and health insights from connected Galaxy Watches.

Security is emphasised via new architectures such as KEEP (Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection), which isolates sensitive data per app, and Knox Matrix, which can automatically sign users out of Samsung accounts when serious security risks are detected. Samsung also said thanks to the upgraded Secure Wi-Fi framework using post-quantum cryptography, even public network use is better protected.

Adapted UX for Different Devices

One UI 8 refines the user experience across different device types. On foldables like the Z Fold and Z Flip series, features such as AI Results View appear in floating or split views for better multitasking. FlexWindow gains even more customisation: live display of Gemini Live, custom wallpapers and clock fonts, and integration of drag-and-drop tools like Writing Assist and Drawing Assist to streamline workflows.

Galaxy S24, Z Fold6, Z Flip6 from 25 September 2025
Galaxy S23, Z Fold5, Z Flip5 come 2 October 2025
Galaxy S22, Z Fold4, Z Flip4 on 6 October 2025
Galaxy S21 FE will be updated on 16 October 2025
