What to expect at the next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked and an RM700 voucher from Samsung Malaysia

Right on cue, Samsung Malaysia recently sent out an RM700 e-voucher to get their latest foldables, signaling that the next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked could be just around the corner. With last year's unpacked happening in July, we expect this year’s to showcase the next Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Flip 8, Galaxy Watch 9, maybe even a Galaxy Z Fold Wide and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 too. No exact Malaysia release dates or pricing details yet though.

What we're hoping for

In the wake of other recent foldable display releases we're hoping that the next generation of Samsung Galaxy Foldables will be more fully featured. This means bigger batteries (maybe even a silicon carbon one too) and better cameras. Last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 was just 4.2mm thin when unfolded while the Galaxy Z Flip 7 was 6.5mm. We’re hoping the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will at least maintain that same thinness while the Galaxy Z Flip 8 could be thinner.

Last year there was a slightly more affordable Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE but no affordable version was made for the Galaxy Z Fold 7, so we’re not too hopeful about that. Instead, rumours are pointing towards a passport-sized Galaxy Z Fold Wide with a slightly wider and not so tall form factor when folded, which might make it a better size to use when unfolded.

Unfortunately, we’re not very hopeful for lower prices for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy devices. Memory prices have skyrocketed and continue to grow day by day. The value of the RM700 e-voucher is also a telling sign that this year’s price might be significantly higher as well. For other features, we fully expect more AI stuff, perhaps even a more intelligent OpenClaw-like AI Agent that can do things for you while you’re busy. As always with such unconfirmed things, do take them with a grain of salt.

Valid until 4 October 2026, the RM700 e-voucher also comes with other e-vouchers too, including an RM200 e-voucher for a watch and an RM600 e-voucher for foldables and RM150 e-voucher for a watch if you refer a friend
