Google Chrome launches a new feature to reduce notification interruptions

To reduce the distraction of too many notifications, Google is introducing a new feature in Chrome for Android and desktop that will automatically turn off notifications from websites you rarely visit. So, what should you know about it?

Only for sites with a very low user interaction rate

According to Google, this feature will only evoke notification permissions for sites that have a very low user interaction rate but send a high volume of notifications. Notifications from installed web apps will not be affected.

Whenever notification permissions are revoked, Chrome will display a notification to the user. If you want to continue receiving notifications from a particular site, the permissions can be re-enabled via Settings > Safety Check or by visiting the site in question and turning notifications back on.

This feature also complements the existing Safety Check function, which previously helped users manage permissions such as camera and location access more easily.
