As confirmed in the preview, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra makes its late-night debut on Christmas 2025. We already know what it looks like from the preview, but now we can confirm its technical specificationss and features too. Let's take a look at what this phone offers.
Tech specs and features
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra sports a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, making it the most powerful flagship Android device as the year comes to an end. It also offers up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage, which will be a massive advantage considering that it's a camera phone. Xiaomi also revealed an advanced cooling solution that should keep the phone's temperature cool.
Speaking of which, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra has a 50MP main camera using Sony's 1-inch Light Fusion 1050L sensor with LOFIC technology. It's accompanied by a 200MP Samsung HPE 1/1.4-inch periscope telephoto camera and a 50MP ultrawide camera. On the front is a 50MP camera, more than capable of delivering high-quality selfies.
The front also has a 6.9-inch M10 AMOLED LTPO display. This screen comes with a fast 120Hz refresh rate, 2608x1200 pixel max resolution, and a high 3500 nits peak brightness. Over the display is a layer of Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0 to prevent damage to the display. Lastly, there's an under-display ultrasonic finger for fast unlocks.
Battery-wise, Xiaomi's latest flagship has a large 6,800mAh capacity silicon-carbon battery. It supports 90W fast-charging, 50W wireless charging, and offers 22.5W reverse charging. Other features include the Hi-Res audio speakers, four microphones, IP69 ratings, Wi-Fi 7 and more.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica edition
Unlike most years, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra has a Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica edition. As the name suggests, this is a variant with extra photography-focused features. Namely, a physical zoom ring around the rear cameras. According to Xiaomi, it's a mechanical component that lets you quickly make adjustments to certain settings, like the zoom or exposure when taking photos.
Additionally, the Leica edition has some special design elements. For instance, there's a Leica Red Dot logo near the rear camera module. It also has the words "Leica Camera Germany" etched into the side of the phone, grooves to offer a better grip, and a two-tone finish for the back.
