Now, the Creta will come with an electric option as well, adding to its lineup alongside petrol, turbo-petrol, and diesel variants.
According to Hyundai, this model has the potential to double electric car sales in the country within the next two years.
The ex-showroom prices for the Creta Electric vary based on the battery and variant. The 42kWh battery options are priced at Rs 17.99 lakh for the base variant, which is Executive model, Rs 18.99 lakh for the Smart, Rs 19.49 lakh for the Smart (O), and Rs 19.99 lakh for the Premium variant. Meanwhile, the 51.4kWh battery variants are available at Rs 21.49 lakh for the Smart (O) variant and Rs 23.49 lakh for the Excellence model.
The Creta Electric comes with two battery options: a 42kWh unit paired with a 99kW motor, offering a range of 390km, and a 51.4kWh unit coupled with a 126kW motor, delivering an impressive 473km range. The top variant accelerates from 0 to 100kmph in just 7.9 seconds. Charging options include an 11kW AC home wall box, which charges from 10% to 100% in four hours, and a DC fast charger that charges from 10% to 80% in 58 minutes.
In terms of design, the Creta Electric retains the overall silhouette of its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart but incorporates distinctive EV-specific elements. These include a pixelated graphic grille with a built-in charging port, active air flaps to enhance cooling and aerodynamics, pixelated front and rear bumpers, and 17-inch aero alloy wheels fitted with low rolling resistance tyres.
The cabin of the Creta Electric features a dual-tone grey and dark navy colour scheme, combining a familiar layout with exclusive EV-specific enhancements. The dashboard houses dual 10.25-inch displays for the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster, complemented by a distinctive three-spoke steering wheel with Morse code-inspired detailing.
The Creta Electric comes loaded with advanced comfort and convenience features, including 8-way powered ventilated front seats with a driver-side memory function and rear seat controls for adjusting the front passenger seat to maximise legroom. It boasts a 433-litre boot, and a 22-litre frunk. Additional highlights include a shijft-by-wire gear system, a Bose 8-speaker audio setup, a cooled glove box.
Safety is enhanced with 72 advanced features, such as six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, electronic stability control (ESC), and a robust structure built using advanced high-strength steel (AHSS). The Creta Electric comes equipped with ADAS Level 2, regenerative braking with i-Pedal for single-pedal driving, digital key, and Hyundai Bluelink connectivity with 268 voice commands. It also includes Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, enabling users to power external devices.
