2026 Skoda Slavia facelift launch likely on August 18 launch: Know what's new

Skoda is set to launch the 2026 Slavia facelift on August 18, bringing refreshed styling, upgraded cabin technology, a new 8-speed automatic gearbox and feature enhancements to the midsize sedan.

The updated Skoda Slavia will make its India debut on August 18, 2026. The facelifted midsize sedan is expected to receive subtle styling revisions, a richer equipment list and a new automatic transmission for the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, while retaining its existing powertrain options.

Updated styling with familiar silhouette

The Slavia facelift has been spotted testing several times over the past few months, offering clues about the updates in store. Rather than a complete redesign, Skoda appears to have focused on refining the sedan's appearance.

At the front, the facelift is expected to feature a redesigned grille, revised LED daytime running lights and an updated bumper for a more contemporary look. Test vehicles have consistently been seen with camouflage only on the front and rear, suggesting the side profile will remain largely unchanged, apart from a fresh design for the alloy wheels.

The rear is also expected to receive a mild makeover with revised LED tail-lamps, a redesigned bumper and an illuminated SKODA wordmark, bringing the sedan's design more in line with the brand's latest global models. Skoda could also introduce new exterior paint options with the facelift.

Cabin to receive technology upgrades

Inside, the overall dashboard architecture is expected to remain familiar, but the feature list is likely to see meaningful improvements.

The Slavia facelift is expected to borrow several upgrades from the recently updated Kushaq, including a larger fully digital driver's display. Revised seat upholstery is also anticipated, while higher variants could benefit from front parking sensors.

One feature that could make its way to the sedan is the rear-seat massage function that debuted on the Kushaq facelift earlier this year, although Skoda is yet to confirm its availability on the Slavia.

Most of the existing equipment is expected to continue, including the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless smartphone charging, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, single-pane sunroof and the eight-speaker audio system.

On the safety front, the sedan is likely to retain six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill-hold control, electronic differential lock (EDL), traction control, multi-collision braking and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

New 8-speed automatic likely for 1.0 TSI

The biggest mechanical change is expected to be the introduction of a new eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission with the 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, replacing the current six-speed automatic. This gearbox recently debuted on the facelifted Kushaq and is expected to offer smoother performance and improved drivability.

The 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine will continue to produce 116bhp and 178Nm, while the six-speed manual transmission is expected to remain available.

The more powerful 1.5-litre TSI engine will also continue unchanged, producing 150bhp and 250Nm, paired with either a six-speed manual or the existing seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.

Expected pricing

With the additional equipment and updated styling, the Slavia facelift is expected to command a modest premium over the outgoing model.

Once launched, the refreshed Slavia will continue to take on rivals such as the Volkswagen Virtus, Hyundai Verna and Honda City, strengthening Skoda's position in the midsize sedan segment.
