iPhone 18 Pro colours revealed in new leak, hours ahead of Apple event on Sept 9

We're just two days away from Apple's biggest event of the year. Ahead of the official launch ceremony, a new hands-on video has surfaced online, allegedly showing demo units of the iPhone 18 Pro Max in a deep Dark Cherry colourway and the iPhone 18 Pro in a fresh Blue shade.

Credit for this juicy leak goes to Korean tipster yeux1122. Per their latest post, the iPhone 18 Pro series is tipped to come in three colours: Dark Cherry (also nicknamed Burgundy), Black, and Sky Blue. Of the trio, Dark Cherry is shaping up to be this year's "hero" shade, the one Apple is expected to lean on hardest in its ads and store windows.

The timing fits perfectly, Apple's "Surprise and shine" event lands Wednesday, September 9, at 10 a.m. PT , streaming from Apple Park in Cupertino, California. This won't be a routine iPhone refresh either. Alongside the new Pro lineup, Apple is widely expected to finally unveil its first-ever foldable iPhone, rumoured to carry the "Ultra" name.

There's more going on this year than new paint jobs, though. This event marks a genuine changing of the guard at Apple. John Ternus hosts his first keynote as CEO, having officially taken the reins on September 1, while longtime chief Tim Cook has moved into the newly created role of executive chairman, Apple's first leadership handover in over a decade.

As for the phones themselves, don't expect a dramatic redesign. The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are said to keep a familiar look, with the real upgrades hiding under the hood: a new A20 Pro chip, a smaller Dynamic Island, and Apple's own C2 modem. The Pro Max might go a step further, packing a slightly thicker body for a bigger battery and a variable-aperture main camera that adjusts to lighting on the fly, reportedly exclusive to the larger model.

Then there's the headline act: Apple's first foldable iPhone. Word is it opens from a 5.5-inch cover screen into a roomy 7.8-inch inner display, folding down to a razor-thin 4.5mm, potentially the slimmest device Apple has ever made. Getting there apparently meant some trade-offs, including swapping Face ID for a Touch ID sensor built into the side button, and trimming down to two rear cameras instead of three. It won't be cheap, either, think north of $2,000.
