Simple OneS electric scooter launched at Rs 1.39 lakh, claimed range of 181km

by India Today Auto Desk · India TodayElectric two-wheeler start-up Simple Energy has launched the Simple OneS electric scooter at a starting price of Rs 1,39,999 (ex-showroom). The new model has a claimed range (IDC) of 181km on a single full charge.
The company now has two electric scooters -- Simple OneS and Simple One Gen 1.5.
The Simple OneS comes with major upgrades over the now-discontinued Simple Dot One. It uses an 8.5kW motor drawing power from a 3.7kWh battery. There are four riding modes -- Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic. While the electric scooter can go from 0 to 40kmph in 2.55 seconds in Sonic mode, it can reach a top speed of 105kmph.
There are four options -- Brazen Black, Grace White, Azure Blue and Namma Red. You get 35 litres of under-seat storage. The seat height is 770mm.
The Simple OneS gets a 7-inch touchscreen dashboard offering customisable themes, app integration, turn-by-turn navigation, and over-the-air updates. It has features like Find My Vehicle, tyre pressure monitoring system, and regenerative and rapid braking systems. The electric scooter also has a park assist function, with both forward and reverse movements. It has a 5G e-sim and supports wi-fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
The Simple OneS will be available across all 15 Simple Energy showrooms in Bangalore, Pune, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Vizag, Kochi and Mangalore.
Simple Energy is planning to expand its presence nationwide across 23 states with 150 new stores and 200 service centres. The company has a manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, with an annual production capacity of 1,50,000 units.
