Although the electric car segment in India is moving forward, the pace is rather slow. It accounted for merely 3% of the total car sales in the country in 2024. However, 2025 is expected to be a breakthrough year with the arrival of models like the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser and Kia Carens-based EV. We are expecting the MG Windsor EV and the Tata Curvv.ev to bring in higher volume.

With more electric car options for buyers, the Hyundai Creta Electric will not have it easy in the EV segment. Well, no new car has it easy in the Indian market, considering how competitive it has become. Only time will tell whether the electric version can match the popularity of the internal combustion engine (ICE) version of the mid-size SUV.
