Xiaomi has officially unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, in China. The device, which joins the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro in the company’s premium lineup, was launched on Thursday, February 27, just ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona. As the successor to last year’s Xiaomi 14 Ultra, the new model comes with an eye-catching two-tone design, a Leica-tuned camera system headlined by a 1-inch primary rear sensor and the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip under the hood.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra: Price and availability

In terms of pricing, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra starts at CNY 6,499 (roughly Rs. 78,000) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage option. The 16GB RAM + 512GB storage variant is priced at CNY 6,999 (roughly Rs. 84,000), while the top-tier 16GB RAM + 1TB storage option costs CNY 7,799 (roughly Rs. 96,000). Xiaomi is also offering a Professional Imaging Kit as an optional accessory for CNY 999 (roughly Rs. 12,000), which includes additional tools for photography enthusiasts. The phone is expected to debut globally, including in India on March 2.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra: Specs and features

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, built on a 3nm process. This is paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. The phone runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2, based on Android 15, offering a refined user experience with new features and optimisations.

One of the standout features of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is its impressive camera setup tuned in collaboration with Leica. The device sports a quad-camera system housed in a circular module on the back. The primary camera is a 1-inch 50-megapixel Sony LYT900 sensor with OIS and a fixed f/1.63 aperture. This is accompanied by a 50-megapixel Sony IMX858 telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom, a 200-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HP9 periscope camera, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with a 115-degree field of view. For selfies and video calls, there’s a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. The phone also supports 8K video recording at 30fps.

The display is another highlight of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. It features a 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with a 2K resolution (1440 x 3200 pixels), a 120Hz refresh rate and a 300Hz touch sampling rate. With a peak brightness of 3,200 nits, the panel supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.

For endurance, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra packs a massive 6,000mAh battery. The device supports 90W wired fast charging and 80W wireless charging. It also supports reverse wireless charging, so you can use it to charge other compatible devices. For connectivity, the phone includes 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. It also features an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor for secure and convenient unlocking.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is available in multiple colour options, including classic black and silver, pine and cypress green, black, and white. The black and white variants measure 161.3mm x 75.3mm x 9.35mm and weigh 226g, while the other variants are slightly thicker and heavier at 9.48mm and 229g. The phone is also IP68-rated for dust and water resistance.
