Triumph has introduced a more premium variant of its Scrambler 400X motorcycle in India. The motorcycle that the company has introduced today is Triumph Scrambler 400 XC and it gets some visible mechanical updates. In terms of pricing, the Triumph Scrambler 400 XC costs Rs 2.94 lakh and this is Rs 27,000 more than the 400X.
Triumph Scrambler 400 XC gets the same single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that is already offered in other 400cc motorcycles offered by the manufacturer. The power generated by the 398cc engine is 39.5bhp and 37.5Nm. The motorcycle is offered with a 6-speed gearbox. The chassis and suspension setup of the XC is similar to the X model.
The major upgrade that the 400 XC variant gets is a set of cross-spoke wheels with tubeless tyres. This a massive upgrade when it comes to alloy wheels in the standard model. There is a new aluminium sump guard along with engine guard on the model. The grab rails on the model are same as the Speed 400. The bike gets body coloured high-mounted front fender along with flyscreen of same colour. The India specific Scrambler 400 XC will offer MRF Zapper Kurve tyres. The Triumph Scrambler 400 XC is heavier as compared to the 400 X by 5kgs. There are three color schemes on the motorcycle and this includes Racing Yellow, Storm Grey, and Vanilla White. The motorcycle offers switchable traction control along with dedicated off-road ABS mode.
The Scrambler 400 XC will compete with the likes of Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure X.
