Honor Magic V5 foldable smartphone launched, gets powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC

The Honor Magic V5 foldable smartphone has been launched in China and it is powered by a powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. The device boasts of 6.45-inch LTPO OLED cover screen and an inner OLED flexible display of 7.95-inch. The device packs a 6100mAh battery that supports wired as well as wireless fast charging.

The Magic V5 is offered in 12GB + 256GB, 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB variants. The variants cost CNY 8,999 (approx. Rs. 1.07 lakh), CNY 9,999 (approx. Rs. 1.19 lakh) and CNY 10,999 (approx. Rs. 1.31 lakh), respectively. The device is offered in Dawn Gold, Silk Road Dunhuang, Velvet Black, and Warm White colour options. Sale of Honor Magic V5 will start from June 4.

Specifications

The Honor Magic V5 offers a 7.95-inch inner flexible OLED display and a 6.45-inch LTPO inner flexible OLED display. At the core there is an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC that is paired with up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB of onboard storage. The foldable smartphone offers Android 15-based MagicOS 9.1.

Camerawise, the Honor Magic V5 offers triple rear camera setup. This comprises of 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultrawide shooter, and a 64MP periscope telephoto lens with OIS (3x optical zoom). There are 20MP sensors on the inner screen and other on outer display.

The device offers a massive 6100mAh battery on the 16GB + 1TB variant. Other variants get a 5820mAh battery. The devices offer 66W wired fast charging along with 50W wireless charging. For dust and water protection, the device offers IP58 and IP59 ratings.

Connectivity options on the device include 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, GPS, NFC and a USB Type-C.
