Xiaomi 15 Ultra launched in China: Offers Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, 200MP periscope camera

Xiaomi has launched its flagship Android smartphone- Xiaomi 15 Ultra in China today. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be launched for the global market on March 2. The company is expected to reveal more details about the global launch and availability in countries soon.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra specifications

When it comes to the display, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra offers 6.7-inches AMOLED LTPO display (3200x1440px) with refresh rate of 120 Hz. The peak HDR brightness is of 3200 nits. The device gets a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite and it is paired with 12GB/16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. When it comes to storage, there is an option for 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The company claims up to 45% improvement in performance as compared to the predecessor.

The device offers a circular camera island on the rear. The camera island offers quad camera setup along with LED flash. The left side of the module offers Leica branding on it. Speaking about the camera specs, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra features a 200MP periscope zoom lens, 50MP primary sensor, 50MP zoom sensor along with 50MP ultrawide sensor.

The 50MP primary camera with Sony LYT-900 sensor comes with 23mm lens. The biggest attraction in the camera module is the 200MP camera with Samsung HP9 periscope sensor. The sensor offers 4.3x zoom that improves low light photography. The other zoom camera is the 50MP 3x telephoto camera that offers Sony IMX858 sensor. The fourth camera is a 50MP Samsung JN5 ultrawide sensor. The device runs Android 15 that comes with HyperOS 2 on top and with assured 4 years of OS update.

The battery capacity of the device is of 6000mAh. It supports 80W wireless charging and 90W wired charging. The battery size increases when compared to the 14 Ultra (5300mAh). The device gets IP68 rating against water and dust exposure.
