In a heart-warming incident, a woman auto driver in Bengaluru wins internet’s heart after helping a passenger stranded late at night in Indiranagar.

Varun Agarwal shared his experience on X (formerly Twitter), saying that multiple auto drivers refused to take him to Koramangala.

“So l was stuck in Indiranagar without a cab. No auto was willing to go to Koramangala and every auto guy said no to me,” He wrote.

After walking for almost a kilometre, he finally spotted a woman auto driver parked on the roadside. “I must have walked for almost a kilometre when I found this lady auto driver parked on the side of the road,” he added.

He then stated that the female driver initially said she was done for the day and was heading home. But when Varun began to leave, she called him back and offered to drop him to his destination.

“The normal Uber fare would have been Rs. 300, but she only asked for Rs. 200. I insisted on paying Rs. 300, but she refused,” Varun shared in his post.

The post has received widespread praise online. Many users appreciated her honesty and helpfulness. One user said, “The fact that this happened in Bangalore where the autowallahs can be really scary, is such a pleasant change. An example of good feminism!”

While another added, “We need more women of all strata out and about at any given point in time. That’s the only way society and economy will grow. And men need to make that space since they seem to have claimed it all for themselves.”
