Kia removes diesel-iMT powertrain from the Sonet, Seltos, Carens in India

Kia has removed diesel-iMT powertrain option from the Sonet, Seltos, Carens models in India, initially reported Autocar India. Well, you need not worry because the iMT powertrain is still available for the turbo-petrol engine versions. We have mentioned the changes in the variants below.

Kia Sonet used to be offered with diesel -iMT powertrain that is available in the HTX and HTX+ trims. Kia now offers HTK+(O) trim that is placed between the HTK(O) and HTX trims. The 1.2-litre petrol-MT and 1.0-litre turbo-petrol-iMT powertrains are offered in the new HTK+(O) variant. Speaking about price, the Kia Sonet costs between Rs 8.00 lakh and Rs 15.70 lakh.

The Kia Seltos is one of the best-selling mid-range SUVs in the country and the diesel-iMT powertrain was offered in the mid-spec HTX trim. It is unavailable now. We now get three new trims: HTK(O), HTK+(O) and HTX (O). Now the GT Line is offered in GTX+ trim. The price range of the Seltos is between Rs 11.13 lakh and Rs 20.51 lakh.

Along with the diesel-iMT powertrain on the Kia Carens, the Luxury trim with six and seven seater configuration has been removed. The diesel-AT is available in the Prestige Plus (O) trim. The petrol-iMT powertrain is available in lesser trims. The X-Line trim is available in the turbo-petrol-DCT trim. The Kia Carens is available between Rs 10.60 lakh- Rs 19.70 lakh range.
