Vivo X Fold 5, Vivo X200 FE might not be aimed for average Indian smartphone buyer, know why

Vivo X Fold 5 as well as Vivo X200 FE will be launching in India on July 14. Even though both devices have launched in specific countries it is yet to arrive in India. Vivo has mentioned multiple features of both the devices but the pricing of the devices is unknown. The latest leak about price of the devices has hinted that they might not be aimed at an average Indian smartphone buyer.

The latest leak by tipster Abhishek Yadav (@yabhishekhd) on X, has given us a hint about the price of the devices. Vivo X Fold 5 will be launched as a premium smartphone in India and will be available in a single 16GB+512GB option. The price of the device is likely to cost Rs 1,49,999. Very small fraction of Indian smartphone buyers opt for a smartphone that costs more than Rs 1 lakh.

On the other hand, the Vivo X200 FE is expected to costs Rs 54,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant while the top 16GB + 512GB variant will cost Rs 59,999. Those who are planning to buy a premium mid-range smartphone might opt for this smartphone. However, majority of the buyers opt for a smartphone that are less than Rs 50,000.

Specs (global model)

The Vivo X Fold 5 is powered by a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and gets up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. The storage is up to 1TB of UFS4.1 on-board storage. When it comes to camera specifications, the Vivo X Fold 5 offers 50-megapixel primary sensor along with 50-megapixel ultra-wide shooter and 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. The selfie cameras are 20- megapixel front-facing cameras.

Vivo X200 FE offers rear camera setup of 50MP Zeiss main camera (OIS), 8MP ultra wide-angle camera and 50MP Zeiss super telephoto camera. The processor on the device is Dimensity 9300+ and is coupled with 12GB or 16GB of RAM. When it comes to display, the device offers 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. The peak brightness is 4500 nits.
