Motorola Razr Fold launched with 8-inch display to take on Samsung and Google

Motorola has entered the large fordable segment with it’s first ever book-style smartphone- new Razr Fold. The device was displayed at the CES 2026, and is said to rival the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and Google Pixel Fold with bigger display and upgraded hinge.

Main (Inner) Foldable Screen: The AMOLED panel size is approximately 8.0 inches (diagonal). It has a high refresh rate and can be used in multitasking, productivity, and entertainment.
Outer (Cover) Screen: 6.5 inches of AMOLED that is independent of the folded screen with the ability to operate applications and notifications.

Performance
Chipset: The most recent Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 that delivers the best performance in applications, gaming and multitasking.
RAM: Up to 12 GB LPDDR5X.
Storage: 256 GB or 512 GB UFS 4.0.

Battery & Charging
Battery Capacity: 4,800 mAh two-cell battery with foldable form factor optimization.
Charging: Fast wired charging capability (50 W or above) and wireless charging.

Rear Camera: Triple camera system with the primary unit of 50 MP sensors, accompanied with the ultra-wide and telephoto sensors.

Motorola will be marketing the Razr Fold as a flagship foldable at a lower competitive price than Samsung or Google. The blend of a big primary display, practical cover, powerful cameras and premium internals are tailored to customers seeking the highest-quality foldables at costlier prices.
The availability and the eventual price are expected to be announced later, around the time of the commercial launch, which is expected to happen in the first half of 2026.
