Indian Railways launches RailOne app, see what all you can do with it

Indian Railways launched the RailOne app, this app shall make train journeys easier and more convenient. The Indian Railway launched the app on Tuesday that is July 2. RailOne is an unique app for all train passenger related issues.

The app take care of various issues of train passengers such as, Booking tickets (reserved and unreserved) through a single unified platform.
The app further allows purchase of platform tickets.

According to reports, the Railone app further provides real-time information on train schedules, routes, and live running status of almost all trains in India. The app helps in tracking PNR status updates. It further helps in tracking confirmation of tickets.

In a great addition, the app has integrated the Rail Madad, a platform for filing complaints and for tracking grievance redressal. The app helps order food directly to the seats of passengers.

It is worth mentioning here that the app has been developed by CRIS and launched by Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on CRIS Foundation Day 2025.

Reacently on July 1, the Indian Railways revamped its ticketing and reservation process by advancing the preparation of the chart eight hours before the train’s departure. The railway also enhanced the ticket booking capacity by upgrading the Passenger Reservation System (PRS), allowing over 1.5 lakh ticket bookings per minute.

This change came as Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw recently reviewed the progress of these reforms. He emphasized that the ticketing system should be smart, transparent, accessible, and efficient. Planning should focus on passenger convenience. The system must ensure a smooth and comfortable travel experience for our passengers, according to a release from the Ministry of Railways

Currently, the reservation chart is prepared four hours before the departure of the train. This creates uncertainty in the minds of passengers. Wherever passengers are coming from a nearby area to catch the train, this uncertainty can cause serious problems. To remove this uncertainty, the railway board had proposed preparing the reservation chart eight hours before the departure.
