Triumph Bonneville 400 Teased – 4 New Motorcycles Debut On 6th Oct
by Satya Singh · RushLaneA retro-styled motorcycle in Triumph’s latest teaser raises expectations of a smaller Bonneville, following repeated test sightings
Triumph has teased four upcoming motorcycles ahead of an announcement on October 6, 2026, at 12 pm BST, or 4:30 pm IST. Among them is a classic-styled roadster that could be the much-anticipated Bonneville 400, potentially bringing the British brand’s heritage design to a more accessible segment.
Bonneville Styling Clearly Visible
With the Bonneville T100 already updated earlier this year and smaller retro test motorcycles spotted repeatedly, attention is turning towards a possible addition to Triumph’s 400 family. The retro motorcycle features a sculpted fuel tank, circular headlamp and round mirrors, accompanied by a flat bench seat and chrome-finished rear grab rail. A broad rear fender and compact tail lamp complete the traditional silhouette.
Wire-spoke wheels are another notable detail, reinforcing the classic appearance. Conventional telescopic forks with gaiters, twin rear shock absorbers and a long, low-mounted peashooter-style exhaust further distinguish the motorcycle from Triumph’s more contemporary roadsters. The overall treatment is closely associated with the Bonneville family.
Earlier Spy Shots Support Smaller Bonneville Expectations
Previous sightings of the expected Bonneville 400 showed a curvy tank, brushed-metal engine detailing, a wide single-piece seat and twin rear shocks. These elements point towards a motorcycle designed around relaxed ergonomics and traditional styling.
The rear suspension layout is particularly significant. Unlike the Speed 400’s monoshock arrangement, a twin-shock setup would require changes to the rear structure and swingarm. A revised subframe would also help accommodate the flatter seat profile.
For buyers, the appeal would extend beyond appearance. An upright riding position and broader seat could give the smaller Bonneville a distinct role within Triumph’s lineup, particularly for those seeking everyday comfort and pillion practicality.
India-Specific Engine Could Differ
India-spec Bonneville could use Triumph’s 349cc engine, while international versions could retain the 398cc unit. This will help Bajaj (who handles Triumph 400 range business in India) price the motorcycle aggressively, and compete with bikes like Royal Enfield Classic 350, Honda CB350, etc. Triumph’s existing small-capacity motorcycles are manufactured by Bajaj at their Pune plant for domestic and overseas markets.
Four-Motorcycle Announcement Planned
Alongside the retro roadster, the teaser shows a sporty naked motorcycle and two adventure-style machines. These could represent developments in the Street Triple and Tiger families, although exact model identities and engine capacities remain unconfirmed.
