Hyundai Prime Taxi Range Launch Price Rs 6 Lakh – 28.4 km/kg Mileage

Mainstream car manufacturers are realizing that commercial segment can be profitable if done right. Maruti Suzuki was the leader in this regard, with its wide range of Tour commercial taxi models and now Hyundai has entered the chat with Prime range of commercial taxis for a starting price of Rs 6 lakh (Ex-sh). Let’s take a closer look.

Hyundai Prime Taxi Range

After a long gap, Hyundai has re-entered India’s commercial segment with two taxi models under Prime nameplate. These vehicles are called Prime HB and Prime SD (HB – Hatchback, SD – Sedan). Prime HB and Prime SD will be made available in three colours – Atlas White, Typhoon Silver and Abyss Black.

Prime HB has been priced starting from Rs 5,99,900 (Ex-sh) and Prime SD has been priced from Rs 6,89,900 (Ex-sh). The former is based on Grand i10 NIOS and the latter is based on Aura. Bookings for both vehicles are currently open across all Hyundai authorised showrooms in India for a token price of Rs 5,000. Flexible finance options with a tenure of up to 72 months are on offer too.

In typical Hyundai fashion, Prime HB and Prime SD come loaded with relevant features and creature comforts for a taxi. These include 6 airbags, company fitted CNG and speed limiting function (80 km/h) with 3 year warranty, 4 power windows, rear AC vents, driver seat height adjust, speakers and steering mounted audio controls, power adjustable ORVMs, rear defogger, central locking, rear parking sensors, among others. Prime HB gets additional features like rear adjustable headrests and keyless entry.

To make ownership experience better for self employed individuals and fleet operators, Hyundai offers a host of accessories. These include vehicle location tracking device, four panic buttons, a 9-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear camera for easy parking and more.

Hyundai Prime taxi range also get curated 4th and 5th year / 1,80,000 km extended warranty packages too, offering a peace of mind. Both Prime HB and Prime SD are powered by the tried and tested 1.2L 4-cylinder Kappa Petrol engine which is known for its butter smooth operation and low ownership cost, which will result in high earning potential.

The company is promising low running costs as low as 47 paise / km, which target demographic will definitely appreciate. Fuel efficiency numbers quoted by Hyundai are impressive as well, 27.32 km/kg with Prime HB and 28.40 km/kg with Prime SD.
