MG Motor arrived in the lucrative Indian market with their Hector SUV. It was loaded to the brim with features and technology unheard of in the mid-size SUV segment. Now that competition has intensified considerably, MG Motor has kept on updating Hector to meet evolving buyer aspirations.

Hector has already received its last major facelift in January 2023 and now, JSW MG Motor is giving it another update. The 2026 MG Hector Facelift is here and it brings a thorough update to its exterior and interiors. Let’s take a closer look.

JSW MG Motor India has been upping its game in the Mid-size SUV segment with the new 2026 Hector facelift. Taking on the likes of Tata Harrier and Safari, Mahindra XUV700 and Scorpio (N and Classic) and others.

The new MG Hector facelift has been launched with an introductory pricing strategy for limited units, covering both 5-seater and 7-seater configurations. Prices for the 5-seater Hector with the 1.5-litre turbo petrol manual start at Rs 11.99 lakh for the Style variant, going up to Rs 16.79 lakh for the Sharp Pro. The CVT-equipped 5-seater is priced from Rs 16.29 lakh, extending up to Rs 18.99 lakh for the Savvy Pro.

New MG Hector Prices

For buyers opting for the 7-seater Hector Plus, prices begin at Rs 17.29 lakh for the Sharp Pro manual, while the CVT variants are priced between Rs 18.59 lakh and Rs 19.49 lakh for the fully loaded Savvy Pro. All prices are introductory and applicable for a limited number of units, positioning the Hector facelift competitively in the mid-size SUV segment.

The all-new MG Hector adopts a sharper and more confident design language with the introduction of the new Aura Hex Grille, featuring a bold hexagonal pattern that emphasises strength and precision. This refreshed identity is further enhanced by newly designed Aura Sculpt bumpers at both the front and rear, giving the SUV a more muscular and assertive stance from every angle. Complementing the updated design are the new Aura Bolt alloy wheels, which add a strong visual character and convey a sense of power even when the vehicle is stationary. MG has also introduced two contemporary exterior shades – Celadon Blue and Pearl White – adding a fresh and modern appeal to the Hector’s road presence.

Advanced Tech – Plush Interiors

The infotainment experience in the all-new Hector also sees a major upgrade. Its segment-leading 14-inch HD portrait touchscreen now benefits from Smart Boost technology, delivering faster processing speeds and a smoother, more responsive user interface. A first-in-segment i-SWIPE touch gesture control system enables intuitive two- and three-finger gestures for functions like climate control, audio and navigation, making interaction feel more smartphone-like. Adding to the connected experience are features such as a digital Bluetooth key with key-sharing capability, predictive maintenance alerts, remote AC control and a fully digital instrument cluster with a 17.78 cm embedded LCD screen, together creating a modern, seamless and highly intuitive driving environment.

Inside, the all-new MG Hector focuses strongly on technology, comfort and everyday usability, positioning itself as one of the most feature-rich SUVs in its segment. The cabin is headlined by a large 35.56 cm (14-inch) HD touchscreen infotainment system paired with MG’s i-SMART connected car tech offering over 70 features. Enhancing convenience and safety is the 360-degree HD camera with Wheel View, which provides a clear tyre-level perspective to make tight parking and low-speed manoeuvres easier.

The Hector also gets a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, 8-colour ambient mood lighting and an advanced ADAS suite, creating a more premium and intelligent driving environment. Additional comfort and convenience features include push-button start with smart key and anti-theft immobiliser, an automatic powered tailgate, PM 2.5 air purifier, rain-sensing wipers, front parking sensors and remote control of audio, climate control and mood lighting via the i-SMART app. Offered across multiple trims and seating layouts, the updated Hector delivers a well-rounded interior that blends space, technology and safety effectively.

Powertrain Combinations

2026 MG Hector Facelift retains the same powertrain combinations as before. These include a 1.5L Turbo Petrol engine with 141 bhp and 250 Nm, mated to either a 6-speed MT or a CVT along with a 2.0L Stellantis-sourced Turbo Diesel engine with 168 bhp and 350 Nm, mated to a sole 6-speed MT gearbox option. Prices of diesel variants is not yet available.
