The supermarket meal deal is everyone's most reliable lunch option, and a staple of many of our lifestyles. But with prices creeping up recently, one supermarket chain has slashed theirs down to just £1 until the end of January.
A meal deal consists of a main (usually a sandwich or pasta bowl), snack, and drink and is usually priced at £3.90 in Amazon Fresh stores. The offer for the cheapest meal deal on the market is running across Amazon Fresh supermarkets in London from January 6 until January 31. Shoppers can even get hot drinks as part of the deal in selected stores.
Although the supermarket's premium meal deal (at £5.50) is not part of the offer, the £1 deal includes lunchtime favourites from Amazon's range, such as the chicken Caesar and bacon wrap and arrabbiata chicken pasta salad. It also includes items from brands such as Huel, Bol, and Nourish.
In order to get this exclusive offer, shoppers must visit the supermarket's website and pay at either the gates or self-checkout with the Amazon app.
The first Amazon Fresh in-person store arrived in the UK back in 2021 and now operates 21 in-person stores in the capital city. It also operates as a delivery service UK wide and while meal deals aren't currently available here, this bold move makes Amazon the cheapest meal deal currently on the market.
Tesco's meal deal will currently set you back £3.60 with a Clubcard, or £5 without. Sainsbury's three meal deal options are priced at £3.75, £5, and £7, while Asda simply offers the cheapest of three items across its food-to-go range for free.
In addition, Morrisons' meal deal is £3.50, and Boots' is £3.60 with an Advantage Card. Waitrose has a meal deal which is priced at £5, which includes a main, a snack, and a drink and The Co-op ’s meal deal costs £4 for usual customers and £3.50 for Co-op members.
