The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 (2025) comes with higher-end GPU options
by Brad Linder · LiliputingGaming laptops are usually big, heavy machines that sacrifice battery life and portability for high-performance hardware. But over the past few years Asus has shown that it’s possible to make a gaming laptop that’s both powerful and portable. The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 has a starting weight under 3.5 pounds, but comes with a high-res display with a fast refresh rate, several AMD processor options, and discrete graphics.
At first glance, this year’s model looks like a modest update, and there’s probably not a lot of reason to upgrade if you’ve bought a ROG Zephyrus G14 in the past few years. But if you’re in the market for a new gaming laptop, there are a few significant upgrades in the 2025 model.
First of all, the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 (2025) will be available with AMD Hawk Point Refresh (entry-level) or AMD Strix Point (premium) processor options. Second, it has the latest NVIDIA graphics options. And third… there’s optional support for higher-end GPUs than ever before.
Last year Asus introduced two versions of the ROG Zephyrus G16 gaming laptop with a 16 inch display: an ultraslim model, and a slightly thicker model with a vapor chamber for enhanced cooling, enabling support for higher-end GPUs.
Now the company is doing the same with its 14 inch model. Customers who want more performance will be able to opt for a model with a chassis that’s about 1 or 2 millimeters thicker to accommodate an enhanced cooling system and support for GPUs with more VRAM and better performance. The system supports up to 100 watts of graphics TGP with Dynamic Boost.
Another change is that while previous-generation models has USB Type-C ports on the left and right sides, you could only charge the laptop by plugging a power adapter into the port on the left side. Now both USB-C ports support USB Power Delivery.
Asus says the new ROG Zephyrus G14 (2025) is available with up an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, “next-gen” NVIDIA laptop graphics, and up to 64GB of LPDDR5x-8000 memory.
The laptop has an aluminum chassis that measures 15.9mm (0.63 inches) thick and weighs 1.5 kilograms (3.3 pounds) with a 73 Wh battery, and it features 6 speakers, support for WiFi 7, and up to a 3K OLED 120 Hz display.
