AYANEO Gaming Pad is an 8.3 inch gaming tablet with Snapdragon G3 Gen 3

AYANEO got its start a few years ago by making handheld gaming PCs with AMD processors and Windows-based software. Since then the company has branched out into mini PCs and Android-powered handhelds with ARM-based chips. And now AYANEO has introduced its first Android tablet… but it’s still positioned as a gaming device.

The AYANEO Gaming Pad is a tablet with an 8.3 inch, 1440p IPS LCD display featuring a 120 Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 processors, and a “gaming-grade turbo cooling system.” Pricing and availability haven’t been revealed yet, but AYANEO is sharing some initial details about the upcoming gaming tablet.

It will have an all-metal frame and a body that comes in black or white color options with a transparent glass back cover to show some of the hardware beneath.

Other features include a “large-capacity battery,” quad speakers, and support for WiFi 7, a 5MP front-facing camera and two rear cameras: a 50MP camera with autofocus and a 13MP ultrawide camera with a 120 degree field of view.

Since this is a tablet rather than a handheld game console there are no built-in game controllers, but Qualcomm says the tablet has a six-axis gyroscope for motion-sensing and support for “versatile controllers” as well as keyboards and mice. Promotional images show an AYANEO-branded controllers that appears to be compact enough to fit around a smartphone positioned in landscape orientation, but which stretches to accommodated larger devices like this tablet with an 8.3 inch display.

At the heart of the system is Qualcomm’s most powerful chip designed specifically for gaming handhelds. The Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 combines one Kryo Prime CPU core with five Performance cores, two Efficiency cores, and an Adreno A32 GPU with support for hardware-accelerated ray tracing and Snapdragon Game Super Resolution upscaling, among other features.
