The new HP Omen Transcend 14 is a compact gaming laptop that packs an Intel Arrow Lake-H processor and NVIDIA RTX 50-Series graphics into a body that measures 313 x 234 x 18mm (12.3″ x 9.2″ x 0.7″) and weighs 1.675 kg (3.7 pounds).

That makes the new laptop a little heavier than the 2024 model (which weighed just 3.6 pounds), but it’s still one of the lightest weight gaming laptops available and the CPU and GPU upgrades should bring a nice performance boost.

HP equips the laptop with a 2880 x 1800 pixel OLED display with support for variable refresh rates between 48 Hz and 120 Hz, support for 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB of LPDDR5x-7467 onboard memory, and an M.2 slot for user-replaceable PCIe Gen 4 NVMe storage.

The laptop comes with a choice of Intel Core Ultra 7 255H or Core Ultra 9 285H processor options and “up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 GPU with 8GB GDDR7 memory).”

Customers can choose between a keyboard with per-key RGB backlighting or a 4-one RGB backlit keyboard, and the gaming laptop ships standard with a 1080p IR webcam, dual microphones, stereo speakers, a 71 Wh battery, and a set of ports that includes:

  • 1 x Thunderbolt 4 (40 Gbps)
  • 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C (10 Gbps w/DisplayPort Alt Mode)
  • 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A (10 Gbps)
  • 1 x HDMI 2.1
  • 1 x 3.5mm audio

The HP Omen Transcend 14 comes with a 140W USB-C power adapter that should provide a 50% charge when plugged in for 30 minutes.,

HP offers a choice of Intel AX211 (WiFi 6E + BT 5.3) or BE201 (WiFi 7 + BT 5.4) wireless cards.
