Chuwi MiniBook X goes Twin Lake: 10.51 inch laptop with Intel N150 and a 360 degree hinge
by Brad Linder · LiliputingThe Chuwi MiniBook X is a mini-laptop with a 10.51 inch, 1920 x 1200 pixel touchscreen display, a 360-degree hinge that lets you use the notebook in laptop or tablet modes, and a relatively affordable price tag thanks to Chuwi’s use of entry-level Intel processors.
Chuwi launched the first MiniBook X in 2022 and an updated model the following year. Now Chuwi is planning to give its mini-laptop a 2025 refresh by giving the computer a modest CPU spec bump. The new Chuwi MiniBook X N150 should be available in the first quarter of 2025 with pricing announced closer to availability.
For the most part, the new model looks a lot like the 2023 version. But instead of a 6-watt Intel N100 quad-core Alder Lake-N processor, the new laptop has an Intel N150 Twin Lake chip. That means it should be a little faster thanks to support for slightly higher max CPU and GPU frequencies. But it’s still an entry-level processor designed for cheap, low-power PCs.
Like the previous model though, the new MiniBook X N150 is a compact notebook with an aluminum alloy body that weighs about 2 pounds (920 grams) and features a fan and heat pipes for active cooling, a full-sized keyboard and a somewhat disappointingly small 28.8 Wh battery (although at least it’s a little better than the 26.65 Wh battery in the previous-gen model).
The laptop has 12GB of LPDDR5 memory, a 512GB SSD, and a pretty set of ports: there are two “full featured” USB Type-C ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Both USB ports are on the right side of the laptop, and you can use either for data, video, our power (thanks to support for USB Power Delivery 3.0).
