REDMAGIC 10S Pro gaming phone goes global for $699 and up

The REDMAGIC 10S Pro is a gaming phone with a 6.85 inch, 2688 x 1216 pixel, 144 Hz AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite “Leading Version” processor, at least 12GB of LPDDR5T RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage, and a 7,050 mAh battery.

After launching in China last month, the REDMAGIC 10S Pro will be available globally later this month, with prices starting at $699 for customers in the US when the phone officially goes on sale June 18th.

You’ll also be able to sign up for an Early Bird voucher that will let you save $50 if you purchase the phone a day early on June 17th.

While one of the key selling points for the Chinese version of the phone was a “PC emulator” that comes pre-installed, allowing you to run some Windows games on this Android phone, there’s no mention of that feature in the Global Launch press release.

Still, the phone looks like a pretty good deal for folks who want bleeding edge performance from a smartphone. It has a processor that supports CPU frequencies up to 4.47 GHz (a little higher than the 4.32 GHz supported by most other phones with Snapdragon 8 Elite chips), and a GPU that hits speeds up to 1.2 GHz (up from 1.1 GHz).

There are also features designed specifically to enhance gaming performance including a cooling system that includes liquid metal, a vapor chamber, and a 23,000 RPM fan, RGB lighting effects (with up to 15 colors), and a screen with a 2,500 MHz touch sampling rate (or 960 Hz for multitouch).

The phone also has shoulder triggers with 520 Hz touch sampling rates and RGB backlighting as well as support for configuring keyboards, mice, and external game controllers. And the phone has stereo speakers with DTS-X sound,

There are three rear cameras, including a 50MP primary camera with optical image stabilization, a 50MP ultra-wide angle camera, and a 2MP “third camera” that “supports the imaging system to further enhance photo quality in specific modes.” The REDMAGIC 10S Pro also has a 16MP front-facing camera.

In addition to featuring a massive battery, the REDMAGIC 10S Pro supports 80W charging. Other features include a fingerprint sensor and an infrared function that lets you use the phone as a remote control for a TV or other devices.

The REDMAGIC 10S Pro is rated IP54 for dust and water resistance, which means it’s basically splash-resistant, but you’re probably not going to want to drop it in a pool of water.

REDMAGIC ships the phone with REDMAGIC OS 10.5, which is based on Android 15. There’s no promise of guaranteed updates though.

While prices start at $699 for an entry-level model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, REDMAGIC will also offer 16GB/512GB and 24TB/1TB versions for $799 and $999, respectively.
