Honor Magic V6: First Look at the Revolutionary Crease-Less Foldable Display
by Kreso · NokiamobHonor continues to build anticipation for its upcoming Magic V6, with the latest promotional teasers offering the clearest look yet at the device’s inner display. Images recently shared by Honor executive Wang Fei on the Chinese social media platform Weibo reveal a main screen that appears completely devoid of the middle crease that has long plagued the foldable smartphone industry.
Honor Magic V6: A Seamless Screen Without Compromise
When viewed head-on, the Magic V6’s main display shows no visible ridge along the folding line. This is a significant engineering milestone, considering that nearly all current foldable devices on the market exhibit some form of indentation where the screen bends.
According to Fei, achieving this flawlessly flat display did not require sacrificing other critical hardware parameters. The company managed to eliminate the crease while maintaining the phone’s thin and lightweight design, top-tier performance, and overall battery capacity.
Advanced Hinge and Anti-Reflective Technology
The secret behind this seamless display likely lies in the device’s mechanics. Honor is implementing an updated Super Steel Hinge, which not only improves the overall durability of the folding mechanism but also utilizes internal components that are key to eliminating the visible display crease.
In addition to the physical improvements, the foldable brings advanced screen protection via ultra-thin glass (UTG). The display also boasts an industry-leading 1.5% reflection rating. In practical terms, this dramatically reduces screen glare, ensuring excellent outdoor usability and readability even in extremely bright, direct sunlight.
Industry-First Ingress Protection
Beyond display innovations, Honor has already confirmed that the Magic V6 will set a new benchmark for ruggedness in the foldable sector. The device will feature both IP68 and IP69 ingress protection ratings. This certification guarantees robust resistance against dust, prolonged water immersion, and high-pressure, high-temperature water jets, making the Magic V6 the first foldable smartphone in the world to offer this unprecedented level of durability.
