Backed by NxtQuantum Shift Technologies, the AI+ brand aims to capture the budget-conscious market in India by offering devices that emphasize artificial intelligence, a clean software experience, and a commitment to local manufacturing. The debut lineup, featuring the AI+ Nova 5G and Pulse 4G, will be sold exclusively on Flipkart, signaling a significant new entry in the competitive Indian tech landscape.
The highly competitive Indian smartphone market is poised for a new disruption with the arrival of AI+ Smartphone, a homegrown brand led by industry stalwart Madhav Sheth. Backed by NxtQuantum Shift Technologies, AI+ is scheduled to launch its inaugural devices on July 8, 2025, promising a potent combination of artificial intelligence features, accessible pricing, and a strong “Made-in-India” commitment. The initial launch will be exclusive to the e-commerce platform Flipkart.
The brand’s debut will be spearheaded by two models: the AI+ Nova 5G (also referred to as Nova 2 5G in some reports) and the AI+ Pulse 4G. With a starting price point of just INR 5,000 (approximately $59), AI+ is making a clear statement of intent to challenge the established players in the budget segment.
The premier offering, the AI+ Nova 5G, is built on the 6nm Unisoc T8200 chipset, providing a modern and efficient foundation for 5G connectivity. It will feature a 50MP dual rear camera system housed in a distinctive circular module. Powering the device is a robust 5,000mAh battery, and users will benefit from expandable storage capabilities of up to 1TB. The device will reportedly ship with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, featuring a flat display with a classic waterdrop notch. It will be available in a range of colors, including Black, Blue, Green, Pink, and Purple.
Its sibling, the AI+ Pulse 4G, is positioned as the more affordable option. It utilizes the 12nm Unisoc T7250 processor but retains the same impressive 50MP dual camera setup and 5,000mAh battery as the Nova 5G. The primary design differentiator will be its rectangular camera module.
A key pillar of the brand’s identity is its software. Both phones will run NxtQuantum OS, a custom operating system based on Android 15. The company emphasizes that the OS is specifically tailored for the Indian market, offering a bloatware-free experience and integrated AI features, such as smart assistants, to enhance user interaction.
In line with the government’s “Make in India” initiative, all AI+ smartphone models will be designed and manufactured locally. The company has also noted a commitment to sustainability by incorporating some recycled materials into its products. Further addressing user privacy and data sovereignty, a listing on Flipkart confirms that all user data will be stored on Google Cloud servers that are approved by India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
Expanding its ecosystem from day one, AI+ will also launch the Wearbuds Watch 3, an innovative smartwatch that features integrated True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earphones, as reported by GSMArena. To attract early adopters, the launch will be accompanied by promotional offers, including no-cost EMI options and various bank discounts.
As Madhav Sheth’s new venture prepares to enter the market, the central question is whether the AI+ smartphone lineup, with its focus on AI, affordability, and a clean, localized experience, can truly disrupt the budget segment in India. The answer will begin to unfold on July 8.
