Galaxy S25 Gets One UI 8 (Android 16): First of Seven Major Upgrades
by Kreso · NokiamobSamsung has begun rolling out One UI 8 (Android 16) to the Galaxy S25 family, eight months after launch—marking the first of seven major OS upgrades promised for the lineup. After several weeks of public beta testing, the stable build is now reaching users.
For now, availability appears limited to South Korea and to devices enrolled in the One UI 8 Beta Program. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is receiving firmware S93xNKSU5BYI3, with a 555.45MB download size noted on that model. Wider release to non-beta Galaxy S25 units could follow later today, though Samsung has not issued a country-by-country schedule.
It’s not yet clear whether the Galaxy S25 Edge is included in the initial wave or trailing behind the original trio. If it isn’t live already, the Edge variant is expected to join the rollout within days and should be updated before month’s end.
As usual, you’ll get an automatic prompt when the update is ready for your device. You can also check manually by going to Settings → Software update → Download and install.
