Maruti Suzuki To Raise Prices By Up To Rs 20,000 On Select Models

New Delhi, Sept 7: Maruti Suzuki India, the country’s largest carmaker, on Monday announced a price hike of up to Rs 20,000 on select models, marking its third increase since May amid rising input costs and inflationary pressures.

The latest increase will take effect in September 2026, the company said in a regulatory filing.

“In view of the continuous sustained increase in input costs, the company has decided to increase the prices on selected models by up to Rs 20,000,” Maruti Suzuki India said.

The company had announced its previous two price hikes for models across its portfolio.

Maruti Suzuki said it had been making continuous efforts over the past few months to absorb the impact of rising costs through various cost-reduction measures.

However, the company said persistent inflationary pressures and the continuing adverse cost environment had constrained it to pass on part of the increased costs to customers.

The automaker said it would continue efforts to minimise the impact of the price increase on customers.

The latest hike comes as automobile manufacturers face sustained pressure from higher input costs and inflation, prompting companies to adjust vehicle prices to protect margins.

Maruti Suzuki has a wide portfolio spanning small cars, sedans, sport utility vehicles and multi-purpose vehicles, with models sold through its extensive sales network across the country. (Agencies)
