by Karandeep Singh Oberoi · Android PoliceSoon after confirming that it was indeed ready to launch a brand-new smartphone series, OnePlus has just offered the first official look at its new 'Turbo' line.
We first heard whispers about the line all the way back in October. Subsequently, the company confirmed the series earlier this month, followed by our first 'unofficial' look at it last week.

Now, essentially corroborating what we saw in the unofficial first look, OnePlus has pulled back the curtain on the OnePlus Turbo line on Weibo (via 9to5Google).
The 'Turbo' series is a 'series' in the truest sense, because it features two new devices: The Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V. From the looks of it, Turbo 6 is the series' true flagship, while Turbo 6V will likely be the value-focused sibling that brings the 'Turbo' power to a wider audience.
The headline feature, as confirmed in a short teaser video shared by OnePlus on Weibo, will be the series' 9,000mAh battery capacity. This will reportedly make its way to both devices. From the looks of it, it doesn't really appear as though OnePlus had to make the devices bulky to fit the huge batteries. This is likely the company's silicon carbon battery tech coming into play.
That's a familiar design
OnePlus says that the 'Turbo' line will offer powerful gaming performance, though the devices don't appear to be the 'typical' gaming handsets. For starters, the two devices don't seem to feature the dedicated capacitive touch triggers or physical shoulder buttons that phones from brands like RedMagic are known for.
Design-wise, the OnePlus Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V don't look very different from the brand's recent releases. The OnePlus 6 will sport three rear lenses while the Turbo 6V will have to make do with two.

At least one frame in the short video suggests that the devices will offer an efficient cooling system, while a different one highlights water and dust resistance.
We should learn more about the upcoming series soon. The OnePlus Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V will be officially launched in China on January 8. Whether the series makes its way to the US remains to be seen.
