It’s (almost) official: Samsung is adding a Pro model to the Galaxy S27 Lineup

The Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro is the Schrodinger’s cat of phones. Whether or not it exists has been the subject of much speculation. And now, we have more proof than ever before that it will be a part of the next lineup of flagship phones from Samsung.

The phone has shown up in documents in the GSMA database, according to SamMobile. Its appearance in this registry means that the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro is in active development.

There are no specs listed, just the name of the device and the model number, SM-S952U. One additional thing we can tell from the listing is that the phone will be for sale in the US. The “U” at the end of the model number indicates a carrier-branded, US model. It appears next to listings for the rest of the expected lineup.

A new addition to the lineup

The Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to join the Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, and Galaxy S27 Ultra, likely as a smaller version of the Ultra with a lot of the same features in a smaller package and at a lower price.

The much-rumored screen size for the Galaxy S27 Pro is around 6.4 inches, compared to the Galaxy S27 Ultra’s expected 6.9 inches.

There are rumors that the Galaxy S27 Pro could have the highly touted Privacy Display that debuted with the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The display allows only someone looking directly at the screen to see what’s on it.

And the Galaxy S27 Pro might also get the Ultra's 200MP primary camera sensor.

One thing the Ultra will likely still have over the Pro is the S Pen. So far only the Ultra comes bundled with one, though some of the Z Fold line supports its use.

True confirmation is a long way off

While everyone is gearing up for a potential Galaxy Unpacked event next month, that’s going to focus on the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip lines.

With history as a guide, we’re going to have to wait until February 2027 for a glimpse of the Galaxy S27 line.
