The Galaxy A56 was launched globally back in March 2025, but it was nowhere to be found on Samsung's US webstore. This was concerning, especially since the Galaxy A55 never made its way to the US. The South Korean tech giant subsequently cleared the air by confirming that the device would be available in the US 'later in 2025,' and that promise is now being fulfilled.

In an email sent to Android Police, Samsung confirmed that the mid-ranger is "now available online at Samsung.com and retailers nationwide," starting at $500. As of writing, the device still isn't up on Samsung's website, but it has made its way over to Amazon.
Unlike its predecessor, the Galaxy A56 opts for classic colorways. The device is available in Awesome Graphite (black/dark gray), Awesome Lightgray (silver/light gray), and Awesome Olive (Amazon exclusive) colorways, with the usual 128GB and 256GB storage variants.

The device gives you access to all the current AI tools, including the likes of Circle to Search, Object Eraser, and Best Face. The former two are a staple on most Samsung phones now. The latter is a One UI7-powered feature that is limited to the tech giant's last three flagships (S23-S25, foldables). It lets users select the best face for each person in a group (motion) photo after it's been taken.
Said photos are produced by the device's triple-rear-camera setup, which includes 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide, and 5MP macro shooters. Interestingly, Samsung went with a raised pill housing for the Galaxy A56's cameras, which looks similar to the new Z Fold 7's implementation, albeit with black rings around the camera. This adds a distinct visual twist to the phone's design.
On the front, the device boasts a 12MP selfie shooter pinholed in a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED 120Hz display, paired with a 1,200-nits peak brightness for outdoor legibility and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ for the screen's protection and durability. Powering that large screen is a 5,000 mAh call that can be charged at 45W speeds, albeit only wired.
Most importantly, though, the device is future-proof. It lands with Android 15-based One UI 7 installed, but is guaranteed to receive six generations of Android/One UI upgrades, alongside six years of security updates.
