Woops! Samsung just accidentally leaked its next flagship phone

by · Android Police

We're only two months removed from the launch of Samsung's Galaxy S26 range, but the Korean company is already looking forward to its next big release in the S line. And we know that because the details for it have just leaked on the benchmarking website Geekbench.

That's right, the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE was briefly revealed on Geekbench, before hurriedly being taken down. But it wasn't fast enough to prevent the usual suspects from noticing it, as did reporter Abhishek Yadav (via Phone Arena).

The Galaxy S26 FE has all the upgrades we'd expect

There weren't too many details exposed in the brief leak, and most of what we now know from the leak, we'd have largely assumed to be the case anyway. Still, we now know which processor the S26 FE will be using, as well as the amount of RAM and Android version it will launch with.

As you can see from the tweet above, the S26 FE is likely to launch with Samsung's Exynos 2500 chipset, a processor we first saw on the Galaxy Z Flip 7. This 3mn chip is a significant upgrade over the Exynos 2400 from last year, and while it rarely holds a candle to the Qualcomm Snapdragon chips you'll find the mainline S26 family, it's still a strong flagship-level processor.

Samsung also won't be upgrading the amount of RAM in the latest FE, if this leak is to be believed. This is hardly a surprise, given the state of the RAM market right now, and we wouldn't expect to see a big change in this philosophy until the AI bubble bursts, or someone discovers how to download extra RAM from the internet.

The last element worth discussing is the mention of Android 17. Yes, it's no surprise to see a new phone launch with the latest operating system, but it's always nice to see it confirmed.

The big question, and one not answered by this leak, is whether the S26 FE will see a price increase in line with the S26 range. Given the rising prices of memory and other hardware, we suspect so. But we'll have to wait and see.
