As we ready to close out the year, Capcom is still bringing new things to Monster Hunter Wilds, and a substantial update is coming next week as the devs prepare to launch Free Title Update 4. It brings new weapon balance, harder variants of existing hunts, expanded endgame weapon upgrade paths, and, last but not least, the mighty Elder Dragon Gogmazios.

Capcom shared the full details of Monster Hunter Wilds Free Title Update 4 on the game’s social media this week with a detailed blog post to go with it. The update launches on all available platforms on December 16, 2025. Gogmazios is easily the marquee event of this update. It’s a gargantuan Elder Dragon, kind of like Gore Magala from Monster Hunter World, but not quite the size of a mountain like Magala is. It’s still a mighty threat and you’ll have to make use of special implements and your best gear if you want to bring this beast down.

There are other major updates that players will likely enjoy in Monster Hunter Wilds’ latest update. The devs are once again adjusting weapon balance to try to find the sweet spots with all of our favorite gear, and the endgame weapon tree is expanding to feature some new options. Performance improvements on all platforms should also make Monster Hunter Wilds an altogether more enjoyable experience. Finally, an Arch-Tempered version of existing monster Jin Dahaad, and the Festival of Accord Event are also coming into play.

With the Free Title 4 Update coming next week, Capcom rounds out a busy year with a wealth of exciting original content. Stay tuned for more news and updates on the Monster Hunter Wilds topic.
