Pipe interconnection works to see water supply interruption for several Sibu areas
by Peter Boon · Borneo Post OnlineSIBU (Oct 24): Several areas here will experience a water supply interruption to facilitate interconnection works for the diversion of a 300mm ductile iron pipeline at Lorong Salim 18.
In a notice today, Sarawak Water Sdn Bhd (SWSB) Central Region said the scheduled interruption will begin at 10pm on Monday (Oct 27) until the estimated completion of 4am on Tuesday (Oct 28).
The affected areas are Jalan Kiew Nang; Lorong Salim 18, 19, 21, and 28; Farley Commercial Centre; Sing Kwong Commercial Centre; Jalan Siol; Lorong Lada 13; Sentosa; Belatok; Maludan; and Jalan Kenari.
“Consumers in the affected areas will be experiencing no water supply or low water pressure.
“Hence, they are advised to store sufficient water supply for their needs throughout the water supply interruption period,” said SWSB.
Additionally, road users are advised to exercise caution when driving on Lorong Salim 18 during the period of the works and to comply with all traffic management for safety and regulations.
“Any inconvenience caused is greatly regretted,” said the water authority.
