Oppo may offer a 100MP 1:1 selfie camera on an upcoming phone
by Siddharth · GSMArena.comBack in February, a leak suggested that Oppo and Huawei may use a square sensor for their upcoming phones similar to what Apple offered with its iPhone 17 series. Now, new details have emerged about the camera sensor Oppo may be planning to use.
According to the new leak, an Android smartphone maker is currently testing a 1:1 square sensor for the front-facing camera. While the tipster did not name the brand, the emoji used in the post hints that the device in question could be from Oppo.
The brand is reportedly testing a 100MP sensor and it is said to be more advanced than Apple’s solution, as per the tipster. The iPhone 17 lineup features an 18MP 1:1 square sensor that allows users to shoot selfies in portrait or landscape without having to rotate the phone.
While no additional details were shared, Oppo could introduce this camera upgrade with the Find X10 series, which is expected to debut in October.
