Apple's iPhone Fold may be delayed

Apple's first foldable smartphone, which we're calling iPhone Fold for simplicity's sake, has long been rumored to finally make its debut next year. Now though, a new report from Korea claims it may actually only arrive in 2027.

Alternatively, if Apple does manage to launch it in 2026, only about 5-7 million units will be produced next year. The reason for the possible delay is quoted to be the time it takes to decide on all of the specs, including, very importantly, the hinge.

A recent rumor claimed the hinge would be much cheaper than originally anticipated, by the way. At the rate preparations for production are going, Apple won't be able to sell the 10-15 million units it wants to next year.

The iPhone Fold is said to feature a 7.58" folding screen and a 5.38" cover display. Both of these will use LTPO tech as well as CoE which eliminates polarizers.
