Thunderstorm warning for Cork, Kerry and Limerick
· RTE.ieMet Éireann has issued a Status Yellow thunderstorm warning for counties Cork, Kerry and Limerick.
The warning came into effect at 9am and will last until 6pm.
It will be dry in many parts of Ireland to begin today with sunny spells after some early mist patches.
Cloud will build over much of Munster, south Leinster and south Connacht through the morning with showers developing, turning heavy at times with thunderstorms likely.
The forecaster warned of the potential for lightning damage, localised flooding, power outages and difficult travelling conditions for counties Cork, Kerry and Limerick.
It will continue dry with hazy spells of sunshine elsewhere with highest temperatures of 18 to 24C.
